Loudwater are thrilled to announce that we are now the Shropshire UK chapter of the worldwide Green Bag Lady Initiative. Not heard about it. Take a look at the link below to find out more.
This fabulous project provides free cloth bags to those who promise to use the cloth bags in place of plastic in the future. There are many ways you can get involved:
- Join our team of volunteer makers. You can join us in the Studio on Tuesday afternoons when we’ll be making bags or if you prefer you can make from home or with your friends, and send them to us to distribute.
- Want bags for your event? Contact us with your event, the number of bags you would like, and details of how we can get them to you and we’ll do the rest.
- Talk to us about working with your school or group. We can come to you and explain the idea behind the bag and make bags with you; or for children bring bags they can decorate to their own design to take home, and help spread the word to family and friends.
- Replace your own bag. Email us with your details and your promise to use cloth instead of plastic and we’ll supply you with a bag.
Of course we’d love to see Shropshire Green Bag Groups in every town and village, bringing people together to sew, thus combating lonliness, integrating communities and giving everyone a common purpose. So come on Shropshire lets get sewing! Plastics are damaging the planet we live on, all steps, no matter how small can make a difference. Help us make the world we live in a better place.
